A modern IT market has been developing faster than light—new technologies and tools pop up like mushrooms in different parts of the globe. Consequently, more and more tech companies rise up every year all over the world; highly specialised IT experts are therefore currently the most desirable employees.
Here at Objectivity we ask ourselves one question: How do we develop our staff in order not to lose them and keep them satisfied? Our recipe for success is to let them gain more knowledge and to inspire them to share it outside of the company. And we believe it works.
We’re for a collective intelligence. Our philosophy is to help all of our employees gain more intellectual capital and to encourage them to multiply it by spreading their expertise through speaking at conferences, writing articles in technical magazines, hosting external workshops and conducting internal courses. We also spend time starting up local tech communities, as we consider ourselves one of the most open IT employers on the local job market.

In the last few months we have organised 3 major knowledge-sharing events. The first of them was work services training dedicated to Quality Engineers. Two of our colleagues, Arek and Maks, organised a Testing Web Services workshop. Our 10 guests received the opportunity to learn new Postman; they also created automated tests from a scratch using C# and the .NET framework, as well as practicing services based on REST architecture located in the Cloud. It was excellent training and an exciting, unique occasion to share our experience with less advanced specialists.
On the last Saturday of the summer holiday we held a rather peculiar meeting for testing and Agile enthusiasts. As we’re fond of breaking the rules (although in our approach to IT!) we proposed that the participants… play with LEGO blocks. The toys were coherent with our motto of the day: “Testing to learn, learning to test”. We used LEGO pieces to create a bug-free city. 4 competing teams built a town city using Agile methodology and following the client’s requirements. It was so much fun that we can’t wait to do it again.
As you can see, the imagination and creativity of our staff have no limits and the company is eager to make things happen. We believe in our employees’ initiatives and let them act with freedom—in return we receive sparkling new ideas that turn into even more unique knowledge.
